300 acres of carefully managed woodland and beautiful gardens, all surrounding a red brick, 15th century, moated castle.

Guided Castle Tours

Access to the castle interior is currently available only with castle tour tickets, which can be purchased on site for £6 for adults and £3 for children - subject to availability. Carers go free. For more details, including times and dates, please visit: Guided castle tours

Accessibility

There is a café with indoor and outdoor seating – tables and chairs. There is wheelchair access via a door at the back. There is a very short slope into the building. You will need to be able to ask staff to open the door, or you can call in advance to say you are coming, Tel number 01323 834494 
Please speak to staff if you wish to bring an assistance dog in to the café.

The café offers gluten free bread and soya milk.

Herstmonceux Castle aims to make the estate as accessible as possible. Some areas do include uneven ground, slopes, steps, or woodland paths, which may be affected by weather conditions. An accessible route map for our gardens is available. Please ask at the ticket office or download your own copy before your visit if you would like more information.
