Back with a bang and bigger than ever, the return of Bodiam Castle’s popular family friendly Summer of Play!
Take to the stage with dressing up, test your aim with archery, and try your hand at jester skills like juggling. Plus, there are lots of other fun games to enjoy, including hobby horses, quoits, sand play, dancing ribbons, dragon bean bag throwing, building your own castle, straw bale hurdles, and more!
Summer of Play offers fun for all ages, with most games and activities ideal for families with children aged 5 to 11. Some activities, such as soft-play archery, are better suited for children aged 8 to 15.

About Bodiam Castle
Step back into Medieval times at Bodiam Castle, one of the most popular family attractions in 1066 country. There’s lots to see including a moat with 50 year old Carp, portcullis, stone unicorn, gun loops and medieval bread oven. You can also explore the remains of the Lord and Lady’s apartments and see where the servants would have slept on the stone floor of the castle.

Accessibility
There are two manual wheelchairs available for loan, one at visitor reception, the other at castle cottage.
Gravel paths throughout the site with some slopes and undulating terrain. Level access to the castle courtyard only. The towers are reached by steep spiral staircases.
Some main routes around the property have ramps or slopes and uneven surfaces, so an accessible shuttle is available to take visitors to the Castle and parkland entrance.
