Lewes Castle Opening Times

March to October – 10.00 am to 5.30 pm

November to February – Tuesday - Sunday, 10 am to 4 pm

Museum gift shop - Tuesday to Sunday 10 am - 5 pm all year round

Last Admission 30 minutes before closure

The site will close at 1 pm on 24th December (Christmas Eve) and is closed on 26th December (Boxing Day).

Accessibility

Access to the museum: there is a small flight of steps down to the ground floor galleries and another, larger, flight up to those on the first floor. Due to the historic nature of the building there is no lift.

The historic nature of the castle site means access is limited to ground level for anyone who has difficulty walking. There is an accessible pavilion in the Gun Garden with panels depicting the panorama visible from the top of the keep.
