About Bodiam Castle
Step back into Medieval times at Bodiam Castle, one of the most popular family attractions in 1066 country. There’s lots to see including a moat with 50 year old Carp, portcullis, stone unicorn, gun loops and medieval bread oven. You can also explore the remains of the Lord and Lady’s apartments and see where the servants would have slept on the stone floor of the castle.
During school holidays we have activities on offer available to purchase. Find out about events throughout the year

Accessibility
There are two manual wheelchairs available for loan, one at visitor reception, the other at castle cottage.
Gravel paths throughout the site with some slopes and undulating terrain. Level access to the castle courtyard only. The towers are reached by steep spiral staircases.
Some main routes around the property have ramps or slopes and uneven surfaces, so an accessible shuttle is available to take visitors to the Castle and parkland entrance. Manual wheelchairs can also be borrowed from the Visitor Reception. The National Trust recommends booking these in advance. Telephone 01580 830 196 or email bodiamcastle@nationaltrust.org.uk
